Special Considerations:
Outsourcing
If your school plans on completely redoing a room, you may want to consider hiring an outside contractor. CLC-Brainerd used Dascom systems as the installer for their six classrooms and I feel they did a pretty good job. This company has installed dozens of classroom throughout the five state area. If you do outsource the job, make sure the contractor calls the Network Technician for room specifications and requirements.
Audio and Video Equipment
In regards to the Shure Desktop Microphones suggested above, use a MINI female XLR connector. When ordering, make sure to use the correct MINI XLR part number as listed above .
For optimal performance of your microphone cables, use a single run of cable without any interconnects.
Do not use extension cables with audio and video equiptment because signal loss is added. Also, troubleshooting is much easier without the clutter of extension cables.
Make sure to run your cables in a neat, organized fashion. This makes troubleshooting much easier, and is much more aesthetically pleasing. If you have questions or need help, please contact the CMDLN Technician.
